We are excited to announce that PA's Sister Amelia O.P. will offer a three lecture series on various aspects of interior freedom, peace and joy. These lectures are open to the entire PA community including current parents, alumni, parents of alumni and other friends of the school. Sister is a wise and dynamic speaker; these are sure to be uplifting and insightful afternoons!

 

The events will be held in the Upper School Lecture Hall from 2:20-3:15pm on the following Tuesdays:

  • October 31: From the Desert to the ‘Burbs — Can Old Ascetic Practices Help Our Busy Lives?
  • November 28: Learning Like Brothers and Sisters — How Intellectual Formation Can Strengthen Your Family
  • December 12: Solitude and Self-Knowledge — The Counter-Cultural Courage to Be Alone with Christ

Sr. Amelia is a member of the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia (Nashville, TN) and serves with our school’s Spiritual Formation Team. She has taught grades 6-12 Religion, Spanish, and History. Sister loves helping students to grapple intelligently with the questions of our day through the use of Moral Theology and Catholic Social Teaching. She holds a BA in International Affairs and Global Health from The George Washington University in DC; an MA in Thomistic Studies from the Pontifical Faculty of the Immaculate Conception in DC; and teaching credentials from Aquinas College in Nashville.
